I know it's been a while since I posted anything around here. I have a list posts just waiting for me to do so I thought I'd just start now with this one.
Back when I was still into making game videos and let's plays etc. I made a couple of reviews on games like Need for Speed, Splinter Cell and Saint's Row IV. Fortunately - and I still don't know how this happened - I got an opportunity from a guy asking me if I wanted to write reviews for his website. Initially I wasn't really into the idea because the last time that I "worked" with anyone, I didn't enjoy it as much. I did consider the fact that writing reviews instead of making video reviews were much more easier. And putting them up on someone else's website would probably get me more exposure than if I did on my channel. So I said yes.
A few days later, I was an official contributor for the website www.geekedoutnation.com. Within a few weeks of joining the website, the number of contributors grew a great deal. Shame that out of the many contributors that joined, only about 20% of them regularly post articles. It was with those 20% that I became friends with - sort of. We'd all be in one group where we discuss what kind of posts we could put and what news has been going around in regards to gaming. You could say that it's a friendly workplace. It was nice knowing that I regularly contributed reviews and articles to the website, It made gaming have just one more purpose for me.
Over time, other regular contributors joined and became part of our group, so to speak. Since I'm younger than most of the contributors on the site, I enjoy looking at their content, seeing how they write, the structure of their review, the language that they use. They don't know this but I picked up a few things here and there and put them in my review. Feels like I'm the rookie in the basketball team full of veterans. I wonder if they do the same on my articles haha.
The site keeps on growing and getting more exposure and It's a great feeling to know that you had something to do with that even though it wasn't that much anyways. I'm glad that I reconsidered and said yes. If you guys are interested, you can check out some of my articles and reviews in the links below!
