5 Days of Awesome

8 Months. It's been 8 months since I've even touched  this blog and when I opened the front page and looked at the nice, clean colors, I always wonder why I ever switched when I wanted to get back on the blogosphere. You live and you learn, I guess.  So far, 2015 hasn't been the most awesome year that I've prayed it would be. I've gained weight, I haven't played basketball in over 3 or 4 months and I haven't really lived up to any of the new year's resolutions I made this year.

InSIGHT 2015 Crtv Mrktg

On a night, meeting an old High School friend in Orchard, I got an invite to a group that I wasn't expecting. It read "InSIGHT 2015 Crtv Mrktg". I almost forgot what it was all about. I was confused for a moment. That confusion was soon followed with a tickle inside the middle of my chest and I finally realised what that group invite meant.  I was "in"SIGHT... get it? Because the event name.... Never mind.

Catching Up

Wow. I'm not even joking when I say this.  It's really hard to believe that the last time I was active on this blog was when I finished High School . That was April, 2014. That's basically a year ago. A lot has changed in the past year. A WHOLE  lot.  For one thing, I can feel my writing style change. Shorter sentences and more 1 word paragraphs. I learned that from Medium, a new blogging platform that I tried and liked for that matter. It had a personal feel to it, like every post was suppose to be meaningful and I kind of wanted my posts to feel that way. I guess now I realised that it doesn't matter what blogging platform you use. You just have to enjoy writing stuff. Sharing. I'm in university now. SIM in Singapore if any of you know it. And I'd just completed one of the biggest events that the Indonesian Community Club (InSIM) had to offer. It was a musical. Just like the good ol' days in Gandhi I guess. Only this time, it was actually fun a...

Done With High School

Wow... 14 years a Gandhian and I'm finally " FREE". For many years I've been saying to myself over and over "I can't wait to leave this school", not because I hated it or anything, but because I wanted to experience university. Meeting new people, making my own way in life and now that the moment is finally here, I find myself more depressed than I am glad that High School is finally over.  For 14 years I woke up at 6 in the morning, granted that with every passing year I'd wake up progressively later and later to the point that by the time I'd reach school, I'd miss the morning assembly entirely - something I should have started doing sooner.  For 14 years, I had my short breaks and lunch breaks at 10 and 12 respectively. How I'd wait for the bell to ring so I can buy something unhealthy - INDOMIE FOR SURE - and eat it with my mom's lunch. There were times where I'd just skip the home-made lunch and go for whatever food in th...

Gatsby

As many of you know already, I'm in the last year of high school. Every year of every grade we have a play and usually they're those greek mythology stories that are just plain boring. But the grade 12s always did something different. Last year, my seniors put up Mama Mia if I remember correctly and man was it something. It got me wondering what kind of play my grade would do when we're in the 12th grade.  As it turns out, my play was an adaptation of The Great Gatsby. A story I knew NOTHING about. And it wasn't like I needed to know what it was about. Hell, I wasn't even in the play. But damn I wish I was. Gatsby was to take place on the very last day of the first term which meant that a lot of practice had to be done. the whole last 2 weeks of school was taken just for practice leaving me and my friends plenty of free time. In those 2 weeks, I can say with confidence that for anyone who wasn't in the play, you didn't really HAVE to come to school. Espec...

Bali 2013

The last field trip that I went to was in the 4th grade and that was to Bandung. I'm pretty sure part of the reason that I was allowed to go was because it wasn't that expensive. The thing that you should know about GMIS is that field trips don't come cheap. In fact, Cheap is the last word you'll use to describe a GMIS field trip so when I heard about the field trip to Bali in the 12th grade, my natural instinct was to say "Nah, I don't think I'm going". And when my friends would ask why, I'd reply "too expensive and it's probably not worth it". Truth be told, I wanted to go just because it was my last GMIS trip. And it'll be my first one in 8 years.  The cost of the trip was as expected. Overpriced. I mean, 4 days in Bali and most of the days are those "free" days where you can do whatever you want? The trip already seemed like rip off but I didn't really care. How many times are you gonna get to go somewhere with...

Geeked Out

I know it's been a while since I posted anything around here. I have a list posts just waiting for me to do so I thought I'd just start now with this one.  Back when I was still into making game videos and let's plays etc. I made a couple of reviews on games like Need for Speed, Splinter Cell and Saint's Row IV. Fortunately - and I still don't know how this happened - I got an opportunity from a guy asking me if I wanted to write reviews for his website. Initially I wasn't really into the idea because the last time that I "worked" with anyone, I didn't enjoy it as much. I did consider the fact that writing reviews instead of making video reviews were much more easier. And putting them up on someone else's website would probably get me more exposure than if I did on my channel. So I said yes.  A few days later, I was an official contributor for the website www.geekedoutnation.com . Within a few weeks of joining the website, the number of con...
